Getting to HitchFest
The HitchFest is held in Marco de Canaveses (Portugal – Porto's district), on the Montedeiras Park (Parque de Merendas de Montedeiras) at edge of the beautifull small Montedeiras mountains. It's about 8km from the centre of Marco de Canaveses.

Driving from Porto
Get on A4 motorway direction Vila Real. Take exit 14 and right after take exit 16 for N211 towards Marco de Canaveses. Once in Marco de Canaveses follow the signs.
Driving from Lisbon
Get on A1 motorway direction Porto. Take exit 19 and merge onto A41. Take the exit towards A4. Take exit 14 and right after take exit 16 for N211 towards Marco de Canaveses. Once in Marco de Canaveses follow the signs.
Driving from Madrid
Get on A6 motorway direction A Coruna. At Tordesillas ring, take exit 155 for A11 towards Zamora/Portugal. Take exit 455 AB to merge onto A11/A66 towards León/Ourense/Bragança. Take exit 271 towards A11 Zamora Norte/Bragança and continue onto N122. Meet A4 already in Portugal. Take exit 14 and right after take exit 16 for N211 towards Marco de Canaveses. Once in Marco de Canaveses follow the signs.
Driving from A Coruna
Get on AP9 motorway direction Santiago de Compostela/Pontevedra/Vigo/Portugal. Almost in Portugal, take the exit onto A-55 towards Tui(Sur)/Portugal. Meet A3 already in Portugal. Take exit 8 towards A11 Guimarães and keep going direction Guimarães/Vila Real. Take exit 9 for A7 towards Guimarães Sul/Felgueiras. Meet the A11 exit towards Felgueiras/Vizela/Lousada. Take exit 16 for N211 towards Marco de Canaveses. Once in Marco de Canaveses follow the signs.
If you decide to come by train you can easily get to the festival from Lisbon, Porto or A Coruna. In any case, you will always have to go to Porto and take the direct train to Marco de Canaveses. The HitchFest shuttle bus will bring the participants from the train station and the centre of Marco de Canaveses to the festival site. Check CP for all info on train timetables and prices.
Shuttle bus to the festival
There will be a free bus going a couple of times a day between Marco de Canaveses (leaving from CP train station and stopping in the town centre, by the City Hall or Camara Municipal) and the site. Information and schedule here! On saturday no bus - hitchhiking day! On week days you migh also check this or this local bus.
